The happiest
users in the waste
collection industry

We provide safe and user-friendly systems for end users.

Safe & user friendly systems

Management approach
Envac systems offer a high availability for users with easy access and user friendliness. Our systems contribute to a safer living area for users and are clean and hygienic while keeping vermin away.

How we do it

Ensuring high user availability
Envac systems offer full user availability with minimal disruption when a system is being emptied. We have remote access solutions that allow us to solve issues within minutes. If required, our service technicians are sent to fix any issue quickly.

A user has the option to go to another nearby inlet if their nearest inlet is temporarily out of order. We are developing methods to better communicate system availability for users, such as the Envac Reflow digital solution.

“At the moment, we can access 64 out of the 83 terminals in Stockholm remotely, which gives us the opportunity to quickly fix issues. In about 30% of the cases, we can fix the issue remotely, but remote access also decreases the time to fix a problem when a technician is on site as the system can be tested remotely instead for the technician having to go back and forth between the inlet rooms, which can be a few hundred meters apart”

Safe, clean & hygienic usage
By avoiding the need for waste containers and the risk of them overflowing, automated waste collection systems reduce odours and vermin. This contributes to safe, clean and hygienic neighbourhoods.

Our hospital solution offers closed systems that avoid the need to manually handle waste. By avoiding the risk of handling potentially infectious waste, the system contributes to reducing the spread of viruses and bacteria in hospitals. Read more in the Hospital Case Story.

We have been developing a touch free solution in recent years, and its roll out has been speeded up due to Covid-19 and customer demand. We now offer touchless door to our inlets.

Safer living areas
As Envac systems do not require heavy traffic to enter residential areas to collect waste, it reduces traffic and noise related to waste collection. Furthermore, Envac systems ensure waste handling that is clean and odour free with a reduced risk of vermin in the area. It also enhances the opportunities for green areas, and value-adding businesses and services – all to contribute to a higher quality of life. Read more in the Bergen Case Story.

“At present, we have one terminal where we are developing a method to measure the availability of our system for users. In Järfälla, in Stockholm, we have a target of 96% availability over a 24 hour period and we are constantly above 98%”

Future ambitions

The end user’s safety and satisfaction are essential to us. We need to improve communication and awareness with the end users in the future and to always put the safety of using our system first.

Envac ReFlow – the future of end-user engagement
A key technological advancement for Envac is the development of Envac ReFlow, which is an end-user digital engagement and communication tool. ReFlow recognises the importance of engaging with end users and households in optimising waste management systems for households, properties and customers.

ReFlow provides households with personalised data about the waste they generate, how their performance compares with their neighbours and local waste objectives, and how they can improve their behaviour. The tool, which is driven by Artificial Intelligence and is currently being piloted in Stockholm Royal Seaport, gives end users the knowledge and motivation to optimise their waste and recycling.

Our targets to promote safe and user friendly systems:

  • Increase user satisfaction with Envac products and system solutions
  • Increase safety in handling hazardous waste and linen in hospital environments

Planned action to further promote safety and user-friendly systems
